Point whoring by shooting Ramjets at tanks are a bit lame, but in the servers I play it is accepted as a valid tactic. Skilled players (including me, a not-so-skilled player) use this to try and turn the tide of the game when we're a few hundred points behind.

It should be left as one of the last options though, you've got so many more things to do than holding the trigger and aiming at tanks. Try shooting down aircrafts for instance. More fun guaranteed.
