I actually like the whole stunned effect when you were shot. When it first happened to me I thought it was fantastic realism. It wasn't too much that I couldn't do anything, so I thought it was really neat. If it's actually a netcode issue then, oh well.

If you have anything above a ping of 150, you're going to get murdered by people with pings of 1-149

lol...it amazes me how you can call me an idiot when you have no idea what you're talking about.

cl_interp command helps 56k'rs with a ping of 300 play just aswell as someone with a ping of 30...which alot of people are pissed that the netcode was built with 56k'rs in mind.

Im not going into detail here but, The client and server predict where you were standing. Most games use this, but CS:S is only limited to 33-35 packets per second....which needs to be fixed. Packets are being lost or not sent and it's causing the model to lag behind visually to the client...Trust me aim ahead of the direction they are moving and you'll see a big difference in your shots landed.

It'd just be nice for a game with such "realism" to have you hit what you are seeing.

Maybe you should read some of that topic.

in Renegade this aspect was even more stable on hitting dead-on.

It doesnt matter now anyways, I have set up an autoexec.cfg with some settings that improve on the default ones and I find my shots landing alot more often.

The stun effect is normal, Im talking about when your bullets arent registring hits on the players hitboxes.

You don't need a command, if you have a 56 KPBS modem you can still get a decent ping without using the console. Idiot.

CS:S is not realistic.

Renegade sucks. The only reason you hit dead on in that game is because you didn't need very much skill to kill anyone in it. There is no recoil and there is little weapon inaccuracy.

The bullets hit if you know how to fire the weapon you're using. Since you don't, you whine, because you suck.

The command is a default, Dumbass...which happenes to help 56 KBPS modem users.

Im not here to discuss my skill (so what if im not good yet) or compare the 2 games, Im just letting a few people know they can adjust there settings to get the most out of there connection....since the default try to cover 56K users aswell.

I let a few people know a possible fix/help and you get on my ass about "dont whine cuz you sux"

So why dont you just relax.

Well I filtered all 6000 or so servers by server name, and no cs1.n00bstories.com

its not "cs1"

try just n00bstories

most of the time Renevo is full and n00bstories is empty.

DJM, the server names are http://www.n00bstories.com and RenEvo Dedicated 1. The server IPs are what I gave earlier. To connect by server IP (gets rid of the hassle of finding the server via list), you need to enable your console.

To enable your console, you need to open the game and go to options. Then click the Keyboard tab. Once you're there, go to the bottom where it says Advanced. Click that and a small dialog box will pop up. When it pops up, the enable console option (second option) should be unchecked, and if it is, mark the checkbox and then press okay. Then press okay out of the Options dialog box.

To get to your console, simply press ~ (this works anywhere in the game. Even when you're typing a message ingame). Once you enable the console, it will stay enabled until you disable it. Once you have opened the console, type connect ip. That should connect you to the server.

Also, don't forget to check out 65.75.176.112:27015. Very Happy

Sorry for the double post, but I finally uploaded this:

Me kicking ass on our server shortly after it being put up. Smile

This one just shows how much fun phys_pushscale can be. This happened when push scale was set to 100, and a guy was hit with a grenade on dust2:

Or go to the favorites section, right click anywhere in the list, and select "Add server by IP address."

And the RenEvo server is on 99% of the time.

Yeah, but that adds server upon server to the favorites. Of course you can delete them, but why not just not even have to worry about it? Plus, enabling the console is beneficial in other ways.

Three servers I HIGHLY recommend you put in your favorites list:

Digital-Depiction Server 1 (65.75.176.112:27015) <-- This one especially Wink
RenEvo Dedicated 1 (64.5.42.175:20176)
http://www.n00bstories.com (cs1.n00bstories.com)

You use "cs1.n00bstories.com" to add it to your favourites list. Or you can do "connect cs1.n00bstories.com" in the console to get to it.

Hey Icedog90, I finally got that Humiliation spray to work. Very Happy Bad part is, I had to make it 64x64 so it'd fit under 120kb, but CS:S automatically stretches it out so it looks really blurry. But who cares? It's still funny. Laughing

Btw, what server do you usally play on? I should be playing on n00bstories, RenEvo, and now Digital Depiction's. Very Happy

JPEGs work, but you should use VTFs made from Targas (.tga). You'll need vtex to do it, too.
