if you:

- join the game
- dont authenticate
- leave the game

the 'protected nick-timer' will continue to run for some reason and expire after ~60 seconds so when you rejoin after a few minutes:

- you dont get a message the nick is protected so you know when to auth
- you will be kicked instantly (some error i guess)

the only way to prevent this is by setting the password in RG options.
which when this fails though (not often happening for me that is, i got zero,one% problems with it - ever) you need to manually !auth yourself...

Just stay on irc too to allow yourself Razz
