Here's a bit from my blog:

Has anyone noticed that whenever a black conservative is talked about or appointed for any position by President Bush the Democrats come out in droves complaining that the person is not qualified for the position? For example we've had attacks on Dr. Rice saying that she's not qualified for the job as Secretary Of State and the latest Democrat putting down a black conservative is the Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada who this weekend claimed that Justice Clarence Thomas is "an embarrassment to the Supreme Court". For one Justice Thomas has served on the Supreme court for years without any scandals or shocking rulings and Dr. Rice has served as the National Security Advisor as well as having a doctorate in political science and having been deeply involved in foreign affairs since the eighties.

Both of them are and have been at the top of their fields but from the looks of it the only real thing that disqualifies them from holding high office in the eyes of the Democrats is the color of their skin. Dr. Rice and Justice Thomas have made it to the top by their own hard work all without the handouts and quotas that the Democrats constantly push on the Black community as the only way to get ahead. Both of them have escaped from the plantation that the Democrats run so the master has to tear them down less any of the other slaves notice and start getting ideas of their own.

Yes I'm calling the Democrats racist, at least those who are calling Dr. Rice and Justice Thomas unqualified are.

Absolutely! And it's not a good thing.

There was a time when people were impressed that I have the firepower to decimate a planet in under 10 minutes.

Democrats in the media even called Rice Aunt Jemimma on several occasions. There's a good article on that from http://www.capmag.com

http://www.capmag.com/article.asp?ID=4041

Quote:

Look at the treatment of prominent black Republicans like National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice and Secretary of State Colin Powell. Liberal critics pull no punches in using race to criticize them. Political cartoonists Pat Oliphant and Jeff Danziger drew political cartoons accentuating Dr. Rice's black features and depict her speaking in rural Southern dialect. Garry Trudeau referred to her as "Brown Sugar" in his comic strip, "Doonesbury." Cartoonist Ted Rall suggested she was President Bush's "house nigga" and recommended "racial re-education."

John "Sly" Sylvester, a white Madison, Wis., radio host, called Rice "Aunt Jemima" and Colin Powell "Uncle Tom." Sylvester at first offered an apology -- to Aunt Jemima. "It is with a heavy heart that I apologize this morning to Aunt Jemima," said Sylvester, for comparing a "strong, independent black woman" like Aunt Jemima to a "self-serving hack politician." Sylvester later issued another "apology," only it demeaned Rice even more: "I'm concerned that I have offended many African Americans by using a crass term to describe an incompetent, dishonest, political appointee of the Bush administration, I apologize. . . . She has allowed herself to be used as a black trophy . . . "

I don't think Rice is unqualified because she's Black. I think she's unqualified because she's a woman. I'm sorry, I am new to sarcasm.

I guess I gave you too much credit thinking you'd figure out that the entire context of the article is that Democrats are bashing Rice and Thomas almost solely based on their race... So naturally the point of his writing is going to be to attack the same Democrats who have that line of thought.

Republicans have nothing to do with this particular incident.

Any more questions Panther? Whether Republicans are racist or not is not the issue here.
