Help! I can't reinstall RenGuard! [message #122973]

Okay, I uninstalled RG cause I had a problem with my Ren install. The 1.03 installer will run through the removal, but when I restart it I get the same options to Modify, Repair, or Remove. All it will let me do is Remove, if I try one of the others it tells me that I cannot modify this installation.

What do I need to do to fix this. I'm on the verge of a complete disk format and OS reinstall. I've got the OS disk, but all my app disks(including Ren) are at my folks house and I can't jump over there and get them until the weekend, unless my job comes through in which case it may be weeks.(It would be nice to have a discrectionary income again)

Any help would be appreciated.

Open the registry editor and goto:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\

Delete the 'key' (folder icon)
RenGuard

Goto your renegade directory and see if there is a
Game2.exe of ~5mB
See if there is a
Game.exe of ~300KB

If game.exe exists, delete this.
If game2.exe exists, rename it to game.exe

Run the renguard installer again and there should be no problems anymore.
