Close, but not quite. It's had a day, so I'll give the punch line.
"de minimus non curat lex." =
"The matter is too small for the courts."
It's was used in minor summary convictions (misdemeanours) as a valid defence. If it was a crime such as stealing a jellybean from a candy store or something like that, so someone could use the defence saying that it was such a small matter, why bring it to trial?
