I agree with the aforementioned post. Saying GaySpy sucks is unneccesary, it's like the constantly understoof 1 where nothing is written in math. Gamespy = sucks is just a universally understood....thing.....

DID gamespy BUTT-FUCK you? DId you suck Gamespy penis? if not then its not gay, its just badly coded. 1.41 version of gamespy was great, but 2.0 has done something very retarded and effects all wolspy servers...
2ndly, gamespy in general > any other online gameplay service, it's technology powers 95% off all NON pay2play online (MMRPG/XBOX live) games for not only pc's but even ps2.
Some games that use gamespy technology:
-Ut, ut2004, bf1942, cod, wolf ....
I could go on and on. Not to mention Renegade runs better in gamespy and is more stable for the dedicated servers software then wol (which happens to be offline half the time)

Because I was directing this post to DJlaptop, maker of wolspy, and I felt the mod forum would have been a better place becasue that is where the original wolpsy post was... come to think of it the best place would have been win32... this really doesn't concern users, only server owners. Regular posters probably would have said something along the lines of "gamespy is gay" just like what you did...

If that is the case then, you could have PM'ed him. I felt that the topic would have drawn more attention in the general forum--not negative attention, just that Gamespy and servers and WOLSPY do not relate to modding.

Ok I have narrowed down the problem to a PING issue...
apparently gamespy 2.0 is havinga hard time trying to ping servers running wolspy... so it gives them an "x" because it could not ping them. This is strange because the earlier versions of gamespy arcade were able to ping the server just fine...
I'm going to see if gamespy 3d has the same problem.
