can anyone help me i start up bren and this error comes up..

Starting up renrem thread...

1) Do not run it as root, that's stupid

2) edit renguard.cfg and set notify to msg.

3) be sure not to edit it on windows, or do dos2unix afterwards. brenbot does not like windows-linefeeds.

You never run apps as root. For all you know, they can be malware, and destroy your whole system. That is an unspoken linux rule.

Can yall answer questions not related to brenbot?

If so .. im running renegade on linux on a p4 3.2 ghz gig ram... and the sfps will not go above 50....

anything that can help me get them to the max?

If so .. im running renegade on linux on a p4 3.2 ghz gig ram... and the sfps will not go above 50....

anything that can help me get them to the max?


Set netupdate rate from 7 to 30(max) maybe?

edit:
ppl with low b/w may complain that changeing the netupdaterate will make the game laggy for them.

Same, its steady at 50sfps at netupdaterate 30.

I dont understand. It should max at like 62 am i wrong?

unless its different on linux. But on windows it max's at 62... How do i get it to max?

I read yesterday that 60-62 is the max on sfps, if you got axx to Server Owners forum you can read it in there

ok thats what i figured... cuz i had it hosted on amd 2200+ windows for awhile..and it was 62 steady..

moved to p4 3.2 ghz and its 50 steady.. so ya.. thanks guys

running kernel 2.6.x improves SFPS performance .. my servers run at 56sfps max now, instead of ~50
