Hey all im working on an ak47 for my Gang-Life mod and Im still finalizing the model so Id though Id practice the skin for the wood and this is what I can up with screwing around. I am going to make a tutorial out of this model for my website which is going to be relaunched on NOVA in the near future.

It's ok, it looks kind of dull, it needs more red/orange to look like the wood on an ak-47.

And, instead of stripes, you could try to make actual wood.

I think it looks pretty ok NeoX. Ak's are kinda orange but. Even with that small tinting problem I'd be interested to see how you made it in a tutorial.

You might want to re-read what I said, because I didn't say that I thought it didn't look like wood.

Instead of random wood-like dark-splotches, you just put straight stripes.

actually, yes that is wood grain, i just walked outside the door sitting next to my desk, looked at about 12 different types of wood, and there is wood that looks like that, just because the commies used that wood type in the picture you have, doesn't mean that a smart man could put a much sturdier wood as well as perhaps lighter wood in there.

"did somebody say... voooood????"
