install Renegade (Generals has the EA Shared Internet Components i believe)

Generals doesn't use Wol, it only uses Gamespy. I doubt it has any Westwood/EA internet shared components. I think the newest is on the Renegade CD.
Size doesn't matter.

So that's why I can't connect to any Generals games over the internet...Gamespy sucks. I think you can't connect if you have a firewall because you have a firewall GaySpy can't load crap on to your computer.

There are some problems with firewalls with generals yes, but I think there are some solutions to. Normally I would suggest, to ask on the "C&C" Generals tech forum for help, but since we're talking about the Generals forum I just wish you good luck with finding it out yourself.

I had the same problem at first but with renegade hosting
http://www.gamespyarcade.com/support/firewalls.shtml <read that, it solved the firewall problem with gamespy
