Alright, I'm having trouble deciding between these two video cards, and I'd like to know which one is the best. I'm no video card expert, so I wanted your guys's opinion.

256 MB ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 8X AGP - $300-$280

128 MB ATI Radeon PCI Express X800 SE - $180

Should I sacrafice better bus speed for more RAM?

The 256 megs of dedicated video memory will be useful, especially on games with millions and bazillions and....you get the idea, of textures.

The 9800 Pro will cut through every game out right now like butter, and it's proven to work. New technology always has bugs, I'd go with the tried and true method.

Does your motherboard support PCI Express?

Unless you just bought a top of the line motherboard to go with that, you'd better not open it because PCI express isn't supported by most of what's on the market right now...

Go with the 9800, you'd be better served with the FX 5950, but that's neither here nor there. There's little point to upgrade to PCI Express when there has yet to be a card potent enough to choke 8x AGP, especially given the number of other components you'd have to buy to upgrade. IMO, PCI Express is primarily intended for GB Ethernet and other Very High Bandwidth Consumers.

16x is for graphics cards. There are other speeds, as well.

hmmm... Patrick on TSS was saying that it doesn't matter the speed of the AGP or PCI slots as long as your processor is a piece of shit. So I hope you have a decent processor.

Speaking of TSS, did anybody else notice that they have put the show on only two new eps per week? I think they're going to can it.
