I was woundering i have made a few models and maps but is there a way i can test them without having other players even if the AI sits it's cool with me.

Yeah, you can, but you still have to have the network cable hooked up to another computer or it wont let you host a game. When you host a game just set the number of players to 1. Then you'll have a completely empty game. There wont be any bots though.

I dont have any networking equepment in or on my computer and i can host lan games all i do is click host and set number of players to 1

Oh, and another way of testing maps like this is to type:
Mapname=mapname.lsd
Modname=modname.pkg (only if there is one)
Mapname00=mapname.lsd
Mapname01=mapname.lsd
into the Renegade>Data>svrcfg_skirmish file and then in the main menu go into multiplayer practice and it'll be using your map. This is if you dont have the computer hooked up to another computer with a LAN.
