a bunch of people who don't say a flippin word! About 1 in 40 games there is someone that talks and you can actually discuss what to do and stuff. So for all the TEAM talkers on this board, please leave the server you play on and your WOL nick so someday i might find you on and join the game your in.. hopefully be on your team and then i can have the kind of game i love but rarely am in. My WOL details are below.

I would prefer being on a team that says nothing instead of getting on those teams full of idiots that constantly spam out the quick radio commands one after the other throughout the entire game.
Of course, the ideal situation is one where they use chat to actually develop tactics and strategies. If that fails, spam out Monty Python lines....

When no one's saying anything you know 60\% of the time that you are dealing with a bunch of Rambos. It really sucks because communication is the name of the game when it comes to Renegade in general and teamwork. If no one knows who's attacking/defending and when, or there's no recon, it's most likely you'll lose.
If I get little to no response on a game if I'm chatting about mining the base or making plans, I'll usually leave.
You can pretty much find me most of the time on [HDC]Monkeylovers, seeing as that's my home server, but I'll occasionally hit the NuT or FUD servers, and I'd really like to get a chance to play on WOLF (can't seem to get in, it's so full all the time) because I ehar there's really good communication and teamwork, which makes for more fun games, IMO.

If only I had broadband....
Yes, spammers are MUCH worse than people who don't talk...You can, believe it or not, communicate your intentions through your actions much better than in words. Say, if you run in front of an engie with an APC or hummer. Or if you team up with another medium tank. Pretty soon, you have a good rush.
Here's the solution to rambos: follow 'em. If they're in a mammy, get a medium tank to help with the inevetable defenders. If you're an engineer and see a lone tank, repair it. Rambos cease to be rambos when they have someone else tagging along.

I get the same problem, so now most times I don't waste my breath (or fingertips) unless I see someone else talking. I found that if you pick someone and follow them to back them up, you can work as a team without having to say anything. Yesterday I did this and we took out a refinery, hand of nod and penned the enemy in their base with 2 med tanks. As long as you choose the right person to follow, if not, follow someone else until you're a team.

I used to play on MonkeyLovers before we got our server started up, but now I play almost exclusively on FUD. Me, aplacebo, or zleorg are the main members of our clan there, and we're open to teamwork, providing you aren't a moron about it.
Hibiki, I think you were on FUD last night when I was on, good couple of games then.

I like FUD, it's a good server with some good team dynamics most of the time as well.
And yeah, I remember getting fragged by your Mobius many times on Islands last night..d'ohhhh...that was some good defense of the barracks.

Yech, yep, two Mobiuses can own if they are playing some hardcore D. I know me and another Mobius pretty much stopped Nod on Hourglass one time when they kept throwing everything at us and most of our buildings were down. Mmmm...melted flame tanks.
Makes me think that I should make a more conscious effort to target the barracks first when I'm on Nod, just so the team doesn't have to deal with Mobiuses and Hotwires and Patches in the end game

Yeah FUD is pretty nice. I had good game this morning. EVERYBODY listened and did as they were told. We managed to create diversions and sneak attacks while having fun. [ June 18, 2002, 12:27: Message edited by: whale gamer ]

How do you decide if a person is an idiot?

Well, for starters: tankstealers, people who repair the other team, people who set off beacons in their own base, tankstealers, people who don't repair when they're standing in front of the MCT with a hotwire/tech, people who whine a lot... oh, and fatties. Our server is a no fatty zone.
It's pretty common sense: don't be a jackass, contribute to your team, and you don't get kicked. Simple as that.

Could this be true??.... YES IT IS, people actually discusing and setting up teamwork games Oh joy oh joy so many nights I have wished for something like this to happen, only to play games were teams consit of 10 rambos and 1 team player. I can't wait to get on those servers, now all I need is my new computer, the other one is just c*ap and faulty...*sigh* I haven't played renegade for weeks now and I think I am having withdraw symptoms.
