I played my first renegade game last night after a six month break and found that little had changed, the lack of teamwork was still painfully obvious.
But another thing I did notice was how effective working in a group, even if it's only a pair of you. And also how to tell what group to be a part of.
If someone is running or driving a distance in front of you, squeeze off a couple of shots. If they're a team player, they'll stop and let you catch up. If not, let the lemming run to his death and wait for someone behind you to catch up.
And before blindly rushing off in your shiny new tank, wait to see if anyone else is buying. A number of times I'll run out of a building only to see a new vehicle roll out, so I'll run back in and buy one as well.
I know others do this too, but for those who don't, next time one of your teammates is shooting at you, stop and see what they want.
