I see this happen a lot towards the end of games when a team is losing. They set one off hoping for two outcomes.
One it will slow down the attack because you may not be sure where the nuke is and have to type a few messages to your defending team mates for them to check the base.
or
Two they are trying to kill all of the enemies and vehicles that are currently attacking their base.

A lot of people just do it for the sake of seeing a Nucliar blast or an Ion Cannon Blast, I remember one day in a dom server game where this guy did absolutly NOTHING the whole game on islands, he was idling the whole game, then he came at 3 minutes left and set off like 11 nukes. He lagged the game so bad with all the nukes, then his teammates joined in and so did GDI, lagged terribly.

its a killer for the ppl with the count down mod, but there is a advantage to it, while everyone is having a part planting beacons, you can plant one in the enemy base ![[Smile]](smile.gif) and with all the beeping they dont know if its theres or not

I think people do it so they can laugh at the reactions of the people who are in the game with them. I can't stand it.

if u have lots of money to waste this is a good tactic (only when no radar or only shows teammates) coz you can say haha! bye bye barracks! and while the beacon is in your base, there around barracks, and u sneak in with C4's and blow there WF or summat.

I've actually been killed by someones nuke in Field.
We just started a rush, someone went ahead of me and a nuke came down right on top of me.
I then scurried off into the Hand of Nod and destroyed it (I was a Hotwire).
